Texas Woman’s University and Southern Oregon University where
she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She

job here is teaching the primary class and watching older/former

favorite part of her job is watching people learn. Mrs.

writer, although this is already her dream job.
She has also worked at Marsh & McLennan. Mrs.

She is married to her husband, John, who is an artist.
Mrs. Jenott has 3 children, Beth, Bill, and Mary, as well as

lot of imagination.
Her favorite book is Life Is So Good by George Dawson
who learned to read at 98 and then wrote a book.

favorite food is beans. Mrs.
Jenott has some very interesting family background.

Her other great grandma was a Cherokee princess.
Her great grandpa was a French fur trapper. Interview
by Trisha Solomon Kristy Franklin was
born in Medford, Oregon. She spent most of her childhood in Sawyers
Bar, California where she attended a small school much like Quartz
Valley Elementary. In fact, her 8th grade graduating class was only
four students. She graduated with honors from Etna High School in
1994. She then attended College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California
and Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Oregon where she earned
her Masters of Arts in Teaching degree. She also earned an Associate

7th and 8th grade students. She is the staff member who plans the 8th
grade trip and the 8th grade graduation in the spring. Kristy just
completed her Crosscultural Language and Academic Development (CLAD)
certification and is now certified to teach second language learners.
She is also in the process of taking a two-year Beginning Teacher
Support and Assessment (BTSA) class which is required of all teachers
new to the teaching profession. She says that it is a great
opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experienced teachers
and to improve her own practices in the classroom. Kristy lives in
Mugginsville with her husband and high school sweetheart, Tom. She
and her husband have a dog and two cats. They enjoy camping and
fishing. Kristy loves drawing, quilting, and reading and is learning
how to play the guitar. One of her favorite books is Lightning by
